To start, turn the plate warmer off, remove the plug from the wall socket and let the plate warmed cool down first. Then, take a warm, damp cloth with a bit of mild detergent and wipe all surfaces thoroughly. When finished, don't forget to dry everything with a soft cloth. The plate warmer is then ready for use again.
